Last session before summer break = game time!

In May, the Youth Science Club wrapped up the season with a fun but also educational home-made card game: Microbes vs. Immunity 🦠🦠

Inspired by the American Society for Microbiology’s Pathogens and Our Defenses, this interactive game was co-designed by two of our volunteers, Kim Kreuze and Vinaya Venkat, and play tested by our young minds.

We created two decks – one about “Diseases in the Summer” and another on “Infections in a Kindergarten”.
The goal? To help kids learn how infections spread, how to protect themselves, and how our immune system fights back, all while having tons of fun!

The game was such a hit that the kids “borrowed” our alpha decks… with no promise of return!
Here’s to nurturing the next generation of scientists!

A big thank you to our collaborators in YEPP ry for making another amazing year full of science happen!
