I am glad to announce that October is our Climate Change theme month. This month we would like to give you a little taste of Climate and Earth System Science and prepare you for the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2017, which will take place on 6-17 November in Bonn, Germany.
This year’s Climate Change Conference will be presided over by the Government of Fiji with support by Germany. It is the next step for governments to implement the Paris Climate Change Agreement which entered into force on 4 November 2016. According to the conference host,  UNFCCC Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa, the conference will further clarify the enabling frameworks that will make the agreement fully operational and the support needed for all nations to achieve their climate change goals.

You can find more information on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change website: http://newsroom.unfccc.int/.

You can also get involved yourself by participating in the Climate Comic Contest here: http://climatecomic.hscampaigns.com/

If you happen to be in Bonn now, you can also go to this interesting art exhibition “Weather Report – About Weather Culture and Climate Science” at the Bundeskunsthalle: http://www.bundeskunsthalle.de/en/exhibitions/wetterbericht.html
