At our latest Youth Science Club session from The Science Basement in collaboration with YEPP, our bright young participants explored the fundamentals of electromagnetism through interactive experiments and hands-on activities. 💪🏻
During the session, they:
- Visualized magnetic fields using iron filings in both 2D and 3D 🧲
- Built a homemade compass using a magnetized needle 🧭
- Discovered the connection between electricity and magnetism ⚡
- Constructed a small electromagnetic train using batteries, magnets, and copper wire 🔋
The goal of the session was not only to introduce the concepts behind electromagnetism, but also to show how these principles appear in everyday life.
Science is always more exciting when you can see it, build it, and experiment with it yourself. And judging by the curiosity and creativity in the room, the future of science is in good hands! 🔬
A big thank you to everyone who joined and helped make this session a success!
